What did you learn from designing the CALL lessons?
Designing CALL lessons was a valuable experience for me. I learned to use different technologies and online tools in my teaching plans. For example, I used Wordwall to give students practice exercises and Kahoot to review last week’s course.
I designed a matching game where students had to match words with their meanings. Kahoot was another tool I used. I used it to review the course in the previous week. Using Wordwall and kahoot I find that students were more motivate. It helps a lot.
The process of designing CALL lessons enriched my professional knowledge significantly. The first step was to analyze the students' English level. To do this, I had them take GEPT Speaking Test. The results helped me understand their English level. And after the first class I adjust topic’s level to make it more suitable for students.
ChatGPT was another useful tool that I used for lesson planning. I used it to select vocabulary and create worksheets. For example, if I needed vocabulary words for a particular level, I could ask ChatGPT and get a list immediately. This saved me a lot of time and effort, as I didn’t have to search for the words or design the worksheets from scratch.
In conclusion, designing CALL lessons was a rewarding experience that enhanced my teaching skills and professional knowledge. Using tools like Wordwall and Kahoot made my lessons more interactive and engaging. Analyzing students' proficiency levels and adjusting lesson content accordingly ensured effective learning. Additionally, ChatGPT proved to be a valuable resource for selecting vocabulary and creating worksheets, saving time and enhancing lesson quality. This experience has equipped me with new skills and knowledge that I can apply in future teaching endeavors.
